For longtime Houston residents Gina and Joseph Stayshich, Bodega Bellaire will be a dream come to life. Located in the heart of the Bellaire neighborhood of Houston, the couple’s fresh take on the local-bottle-shop concept will present a fresh shopping experience to Bellaire, Meyerland, and the surrounding areas.
Customers can expect wines from small producers in Texas, California, the Pacific Northwest, and all over the world, as well as artisanal and gourmet foods, unique home goods, and contemporary apothecary items (including a wise assortment of CBD products) to help them make perfect pairings. The couple’s style is decidedly unfussy, with approachable and budget-friendly wines in mind. Though both Gina and Joseph are passionate about wine, they’re each bringing a unique flavor to the recipe for their new venture.
“After 20 years of cooking in some of the best kitchens in Houston, I’m looking forward to sharing more of what we love with this amazingly diverse city that we adore,” said local chef Joseph Stayshich. “Of course Gina and I are excited that Bodega Bellaire will be our very own shop, but it will also belong to the community, and we’re really thrilled about what we can do together.”
With twenty years in the Houston art community, both as a student and a professional, Gina Stayshich brings a keen eye to the design of the store as well as a forward-thinking selection of art and home goods. “Bodega Bellaire will be as much a community space as a wine shop. We’ll rotate art on display, some for sale . . . kind of gallery meets wine tasting with your neighbors,” Gina Stayshich added. “We aren’t sommeliers and we sure aren’t wine snobs, but we know what we like and want to help you find your next favorite wine, too.”
We can't wait to see you in the shop soon!
